On January 12, 2026, at the Su Van Hanh Campus, Ho Chi Minh City University of Foreign Languages – Information Technology (HUFLIT) successfully held the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) Signing Ceremony for the Student Exchange Program and Academic Seminar in collaboration with Kanto Gakuin University (KGU), Japan. This significant event marks an important milestone in strengthening international partnerships and opens up promising academic and career pathways for HUFLIT students in the Land of the Rising Sun.
The ceremony was attended by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Vu – Vice President of HUFLIT; Ms. Nguyen Thi Thieu, M.A. – Head of the Office of External Relations; along with representatives from the Faculty of Oriental Studies and the Faculty of International Relations and Communications. Representing Kanto Gakuin University was a delegation led by Professor Hiroki Yoshida – Vice President of KGU, accompanied by professors in charge of social sciences and humanities disciplines.
The signing of the MOA demonstrates the strong commitment of both institutions to fostering a sustainable environment for educational and cultural exchange. This collaboration enables HUFLIT students to gain deeper access to Japan’s high-quality postgraduate education system while broadening their international academic exposure.

Immediately following the signing ceremony, the academic seminar titled “Career Orientation in Japan” was conducted in two sessions delivered in English and Japanese, attracting a large number of students from language and cultural studies programs. During the seminar, experts from Kanto Gakuin University shared practical insights into the Japanese labor market, recruitment trends, and career development opportunities for international students in Japan.
In addition, detailed information on undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral programs offered by the Faculty of Intercultural Studies at KGU was comprehensively introduced. These programs cover key fields such as English Language and Culture, Comparative Cultural Studies, and Sociology, providing HUFLIT students with a clear overview of academic pathways available at KGU.

A notable highlight of this cooperation agreement lies in the preferential policies offered to HUFLIT students participating in the student exchange program. Eligible students will receive a full waiver of the admission fee valued at 150,000 JPY and a 100% tuition fee exemption (ranging from 500,000 to 580,000 JPY depending on the academic program). Applicants are required to possess Japanese language proficiency at the N2 level (or an official certification letter from the faculty) or an appropriate level of English proficiency.

The event concluded successfully, marking a new milestone in HUFLIT’s strategy to expand international cooperation. With strong financial and academic support commitments from Kanto Gakuin University, HUFLIT students are now presented with greater opportunities to enhance their professional expertise and prepare a solid foundation to become high-quality human resources in the global working environment.
