HUFLIT business students may earn a bachelor’s degree from the University of Saint Joseph, Macao

Ho Chi Minh City University of Foreign Languages – Information Technology (HUFLIT), through its Faculty of Business Administration, has recently signed a memorandum of agreement (MOA) with the University of Saint Joseph (USJ) in Macao. The partnership introduces an international transfer pathway that enables HUFLIT students to continue their studies abroad and earn a bachelor’s degree from USJ.

Representatives from the University of Saint Joseph and the Faculty of Business Administration at HUFLIT sign the agreement for the international transfer program.

Under the agreement, HUFLIT students are eligible to participate in the program after completing at least 50 percent of the total credits required for graduation at HUFLIT and achieving a minimum GPA of 6.5/10 or its equivalent. This pathway offers students the opportunity to pursue the remainder of their studies in Macao and graduate with an internationally recognized degree from the University of Saint Joseph.

Representing HUFLIT, Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Huan, Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration, emphasized the vision behind the collaboration:

“Our goal is to empower students to become confident individuals with a global mindset. Through the joint efforts of HUFLIT and the University of Saint Joseph, we believe our students will be well prepared for a bright future.”

Academic exchange and innovation-focused activities

As part of the partnership, HUFLIT and the University of Saint Joseph organized a series of academic activities aimed at exploring new perspectives in creativity, innovation, and business. The events attracted strong participation from both faculty members and students.

One highlight was the keynote lecture titled “Systematic Creativity” delivered by Professor Álvaro Barbosa, Vice Rector of USJ. The presentation introduced structured approaches to creative thinking and demonstrated how systematic frameworks can help organizations develop innovative solutions to complex challenges.

Another notable event was the workshop “Creativity in Business: Human vs. AI” led by Professor Alessandro Lampo for students of the Faculty of Business Administration. During the workshop, participants were challenged to address real-world business scenarios by combining human creativity with AI-powered tools. The discussions highlighted the complementary role of artificial intelligence in enhancing—rather than replacing—human creativity in business environments.

Professor Álvaro Barbosa, Vice Rector of USJ, delivers the lecture “Systematic Creativity” on March 6, 2025.
