Most international interns take unforgettable memories with them when their programs end. However, Ms. Jeong Young Ju – a Korean language teaching intern at HUFLIT – made a truly special decision: crossing thousands of miles to return to this university once again!

A Longing Sparked by an Internship Report

Ms. Jeong Young Ju spent her time as a Teaching Intern at the HUFLIT Faculty of Korean Language in January. After returning to her home country and standing on the podium to present her internship report, the very moment she looked back at the photos taken with her students and colleagues in Vietnam left her overwhelmed with emotion. The determination of “I have to go back there” was ignited right at that moment.

Returning to the HUFLIT classroom, Ms. Young Ju was incredibly proud to witness the remarkable improvement in her students’ Korean communication skills. But beyond the language lessons, it was the kindness, smiles, and positive energy of the students, lecturers, and university staff that formed the strongest bond.

The multicultural environment at HUFLIT not only helped her develop her pedagogical skills but also provided invaluable moments of cultural exchange. From language classes infused with traditional Korean art to laughter-filled extracurricular activities, it all created a new definition of teacher-student connection that transcends borders.
