The 4th Scholarship Award Ceremony sponsored by the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in Ho Chi Minh City once again demonstrated the strong friendship and enduring cooperation between HUFLIT and the Consulate General of China in Ho Chi Minh City.

Scholarships supporting HUFLIT Chinese language students on their global integration journey

On the morning of May 12, 2026, Ho Chi Minh City University of Foreign Languages and Information Technology (HUFLIT) hosted the Scholarship Award Ceremony of the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in Ho Chi Minh City for students majoring in Chinese Language, alongside a special seminar on Vietnam–China relations. The event not only recognized students with outstanding academic achievements but also created a meaningful academic forum for discussions on Vietnam–China cooperation in the context of international integration.

During the ceremony, Mr. Xu Zhou, Deputy Consul General of China in Ho Chi Minh City, represented the Consulate General in awarding a scholarship fund worth VND 50 million to 25 outstanding students from the Chinese Language program. Beyond providing valuable financial support, the scholarships served as a significant source of encouragement for students pursuing language proficiency and global integration. Representing the Consulate General of China in Ho Chi Minh City were Mr. Xu Zhou, Deputy Consul General, and Ms. Zhao Jienan, Vice Consul. HUFLIT was represented by members of the University Board of Rectors, faculty members, and students from the Faculty of Foreign Languages and the Faculty of International Relations and Communications.

In his remarks, Associate Professor Dr. Tran Manh Ha, representing the HUFLIT Board of Rectors, expressed sincere appreciation to the Consulate General of China for its continuous support and partnership with HUFLIT students. He also emphasized the University’s commitment to expanding international cooperation, particularly in education, cultural exchange, and the development of high-quality human resources.

Promoting global mindsets and the role of youth in Vietnam–China cultural connectivity

In addition to the scholarship presentation, the program featured a special seminar entitled “Vietnam-China Relations: Comprehensive Strategic Cooperation in a New Era and Opportunities for the Younger Generation” delivered by the Deputy Consul General of China in Ho Chi Minh City. Through insightful and practical discussions, the seminar provided students with a multidimensional understanding of Vietnam–China cooperation in the contemporary context. It also offered valuable perspectives on international integration trends, the growing demand for highly skilled human resources, and career opportunities in today’s increasingly globalized environment.

During his presentation, the Deputy Consul General highlighted the importance of foreign language proficiency, global thinking, technological competence, and intercultural communication skills for young people in an era of deepening international integration. He encouraged students to embrace lifelong learning, adapt proactively to rapid changes, continuously improve themselves, and enhance their competitiveness in the global arena.

When asked about how young people can seize opportunities in the modern era, the Deputy Consul General shared a memorable message: “Language is the foundation, vision determines scale, technology is the tool, and communication is the bridge.” He also emphasized four key priorities for youth: strengthening foreign language skills, broadening international perspectives, embracing emerging technologies, and enhancing intercultural communication.

The Deputy Consul General further revealed that HUFLIT students would continue to benefit from educational cooperation programs, scholarships, and academic exchange opportunities in the future, thanks to the close and long-standing relationship between the two institutions.

The event provided students from the Faculty of Foreign Languages and the Faculty of International Relations and Communications with valuable opportunities to deepen their understanding of diplomacy and international cooperation in the context of global integration. It also highlighted the role of young people as “cultural ambassadors,” contributing to the continued development of Vietnam–China relations through knowledge, responsibility, and mutual understanding.
